Family Fitted at RRCHV

At Roof Rack City Hunter Valley, We fit every product to every vehicle as if it were our own vehicle. That statement is a bit cliche as you don't know how we treat our own vehicles. And to be honest, when I was younger I didn't always treat my own vehicle as well as a customer's car. It's like when you buy a new car and you say Nobodys Ever eating in this car, and a week later you're dropping lettuce from your KFC burger on the seats. As you get older you get closer to perfect. I don't eat KFC anymore but I still have seat covers just to be on the safe side. I did say I'm getting older and accidents can still happen. You never know when a little chipotle may sneak out of the end of your foot long. Anyway enough talking about lunch and let me tell you more about our fitting procedure and why you need to run to us with your arms in the air pleading us to work on your car.
Things That Make RRCHV Different
Kerrie and Tom. The shop owners do every installation. We are a well-oiled team and if you've ever seen an F1 pitstop then it's just like us but in slow motion. Actually, it's nothing like that as we won't be changing your tyres, but you get the drift.
Let's talk about consumables. Something that some other installers may have never come across. Simple things like Cold Galvanising paint to ensure that every hole drilled will not rust. Next comes the sealant needed to ensure that your car will not leak water through where the hole was drilled. We use a couple of different sealants but most cars will get a dob of T-Rex sealant. It's not a cheap sealant but it's a good one. Another Riveting subject that is not at all interesting is why would I spend a hundred dollars a year to swap the rivets that come supplied in some kits. It's because, If I don't think they are the highest quality then I will swap them out for a stainless construction rivet. I won't mention any brands. Loctite is another thing that we spend maybe only $50 a month on but others will not use it as it eats into profit margins. A little drop of 222 Loctite will ensure that the bolt stays in its spot and will also undo in a decades time without being seized solid.
Feedback from a customer recently left me bewildered wouldn't I say? I don't know what bewildered means but maybe it's the next level to baffled + to a factor of 3.25X. An auto store couldn't do an install on his car as they had a new guy and he wouldn't be trained up for another 2 weeks. Wow. I have installed everything that Rhino and Yakima have to offer and some of them still need 100 per cent concentration as some fits require mm precision to be perfect. 1mm out and it's a disaster. It must happen often.
Conclusion. If you want the product installed properly RRCHV is the place to get it done. If you want us to price-match the local big retailer then yes very often we will. We nearly always beat them on our installation charges even with the above-mentioned. I have come across dozens of customers who have been way overcharged for installation at the big auto stores. It's just their policy I assume as I hear it so often of a customer being quoted 6 hours for a 2 hour job.
Just lately it's getting even worse for the whole automotive industry with even bigger players pushing into the roof rack market with absolutely no knowledge of what to advise the customer except by reading what's on the internet out loud to them.
We will fit products that customers buy elsewhere and nine times out of ten it is a different product than what we would have guided them towards. We have the products that they bought elsewhere, But they are usually used for a completely different situation.
